FEM IDENTIFIES BUSINESS SECTORS FOR COOPERATION WITH MIDDLE EAST COUNTERPARTS
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 2 (Bernama) -- The Women In Leadership Forum held in Dubai
recently, provided a platform for the Federation of Women Entrepreneur
Associations Malaysia (FEM), to identify areas for business cooperation with
its Middle East counterparts.
Through the forum, the association has identified trading, services and the
financial sector as among the business areas for cooperation.
The participants at the three-day forum from Oct 25, had expressed an
interest in networking and engaging in business with Malaysian women
entrepreneurs.
This was further heightened when the FEM vice-chairman 1, Noridah Ahmad, was
invited to receive the "Women Achievement Award" on behalf of Central Bank of
Malaysia governor Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz, for her exceptional achievements
in the banking sector.
"We are truly honoured and proud of the recognition bestowed on Zeti,"
Noridah said in a statement here Monday.
Although the forum was too short for FEM to close any business deals, the
300 participants from the Middle East, Britain, the United States,Canada and
Sweden, were nevertheless, impressed with the achievements of Malaysian women
entrepreneurs.
For the association, the forum has helped opened doors for a bigger slice of
the global market.
The forum offered an educational and networking platform for businesswomen
and leaders to set trends, influence, innovate, strategise, devise successful
platforms and leverage women's participation in the global business world.
The forum was also aimed at creating an economic roundtable for women
leaders and to examine their perspectives on global issues.
