Kazakhstan culture festival in Jordan
Amman, November 2, 2009 (Khabar) - Kazakh national songs have been played in Jordan as Kazakhstan culture days started in the Hashemite Kingdom. Nursultan Nazarbayev will arrive in Amman with an official visit.
Culture ministers of both Kazakhstan and Jordan gave an official start to the festival’s events. They opened an exhibition dedicated to Kazakhstan with unique exhibits being presented there and the main one was the “golden man”. Arms and armours of steppe warriors who were known on this land hundreds of years ago can be found here as well.
Mukhtar Kul-Mukhammed, minister for culture and information of Kazakhstan:
- This is our return visit. In my opinion, the cooperation in the area of culture and art can help reinforce our relations.
Sabri Rbeihat, minister for culture of Jordan:
- It is a great event for us as Kazakhstan is a very important partner for Jordan. We hope that the strengthening of our relations will take place in all areas. Your nation has a great history and culture. I’m personally delighted with your songs and the sound of your national instruments. Kazakhstan has been known to Jordan as a prosperous regional leader with a solid economy and the power precedent up to this day. And now our people are getting to discover the culture of the Kazakh nation.
On the 3rd of November Kazakhstan will organize a grand festival concert on the Arabic coast of the Dead Sea. Nursultan Nazarbayev is planning to visit it after conducting talks with King Abdullah II of Jordan. The Kazakh leader visited Amman in 2006 for the first time. This event opened a new page in the history of bilateral relations.
Bulat Sarsenbayev, ambassador of Kazakhstan to Jordan:
- For example, in 2007, the commodity turnover reached 35 million US dollars. In 2008 it amounted to 73 millions. It’s not a dramatic growth. However, there’s a trend and I think it will continue further.
Full value economic cooperation has only just started to arise between Kazakhstan and Jordan. First of all, the countries are planning to develop partnership in such areas as agriculture, pharmaceuticals, energy and tourism.
Bulat Sarsenbayev, ambassador of Kazakhstan to Jordan:
- Very good and confidential relations have been formed between the leaders of both countries. The king has visited Kazakhstan 3 times since 2005. He was among those who attended the anniversary of Astana which means a lot. Kazakhstan is considered to be one of the priority countries in Jordan’s foreign policy.
It is expected that Kazakhstan and Jordan will sign a number of new agreements as a result of Nursultan Nazarbayev’s visit to Amman.
