SINGAPORE, Nov 4 (Bernama) -- The much-anticipated Asia-Pacific Economic
Cooperation (APEC) CEO Summit next week will be attended by 1,500 participants,
the largest number since the summit started in 1996.

The summit, bringing together the world's top business players and
governments to address the opportunities in the current economic landscape,
identify the direction of future trends and assess areas of collaboration, will
also be participated by several leaders of the 21 APEC economies.

Among those taking the stage will be Malaysian Prime Minister
Najib Tun Razak, US President Barack Obama, China's President Hu Jintao,
Russia's President Dmitry Medvedev, Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong
and the new Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama.

The summit organiser said industry headliners such as World Bank's president
Robert Zoellick, US Commerce Secretary Gary Locke, China Investment
Corporation's chairman Jin Liqun and Oracle Corporation's executive vice
president Derek Williams will also be speaking at the summit.

For the first time, the CEO Summit which is themed "Rebuilding the Global
Economy: Crisis and Opportunity" has also launched an online discussion forum
"AsiaPacVoices" (at asiapacvoices.com) to enable the voice of the wider
community to be heard.

It will also conduct a delegate survey and distil the summit proceedings for
the APEC leaders ahead of their meeting on Nov 14, all in a bid to ensure that
views from every sector are presented to the highest level of government and
business, the organiser said.

The APEC CEO Summit is organised by the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation
Business Advisory Council Singapore and the Singapore Business Federation.
