MALAYSIA'S IRB TO ENHANCE ELECTRONIC SERVICES
SANDAKAN (Malaysia), Nov 5 (Bernama) -- The Inland Revenue Board (IRB) will have more electronic service applications for easier tax payment, said its chief executive officer Hasmah Abdullah.
She said the step was in line with demands for on-line tax payment to ease
people's responsibility as tax payers.
Up till now, she said, the IRB electronic service applications offered six
forms of on-line services which were e-Filing, e-Payment, e-Registration, e-Tax
Agents Filing, Stamping and the schedular tax deduction (PCB) calculator.
"Efforts to have more electronic applications in the future is in line with
the IRB's mission to provide quality tax services of integrity towards voluntary
compliance," Hasmah said in a speech to officiate a tax seminar here Thursday.
Her speech was read out by east Malaysia state of Sabah IRB director
Kamaruzzaman Ab. Salleh.
Hasmah said the increase in the number of people using electronic services,
especially e-Filing, reflected the awareness of tax payers about services
provided by the IRB.
She said the existing electronic services would continue to be given
attention by improving the services.
In that regard, she called on tax payers to use the services and give
feedback on the quality of the services.
Hasmah said feedback was very important for the IRB to ensure the board's
vision to be an excellent tax authority in the country.
