Life experience must serve for the society

Atyrau, November 06, 2009, Khabar - A council of elders has been established at the Atyrau regional Assembly of People of Kazakhstan. Veterans will also contribute to the fortification of inter-ethnic and inter-religious accord in the country.

Zhannat Asabayeva, deputy chairperson, Atyrau regional Assembly of people of Kazakhstan:
- The elders are the most respected people for Kazakhs. They are normally the most experienced and authoritative. We hope that the council of the elders will contribute to both the Assembly and society.

The doctrine of national unity, which is now being widely discussed, sets new tasks for the Assembly.

Alexander Solodovnikov, chairman, Bylina ethnic and cultural association:
- I am convinced that the doctrine of national unity which is being discussed now will be working for the good of our social stability and a positive image of our country in the world as Kazakhstan is set to chair the OSCE in January 2010.

Vladimir Yashkov, chairman, association of Russian, Slavic and Cossack organisations in Kazakhstan:
- We need to strengthen our national unity as it is both the internal and external security of our country and it is the future of our republic as well. The future can only be built on inter-ethnic and inter-religious accord.

The Assembly of People of Kazakhstan should become a roof uniting 130 ethnic groups of the Republic.
