Water Directorate in Makkah Region Approves Plan for Hajj Season

Makkah, November 07, SPA -- The Directorate-General of Water in Makkah Region has
approved its operational plan for this year's Hajj season in Makkah and the holy
places.

The Directorate's Supervisor-General Eng. Mohammed bin Ahmed Baghdadi said that the
plan included preparation of additional water for pilgrims, noting that all water
reservoirs in Makkah and the holy places have been filled with their storage
capacity of 2.5 million cubic meters and that there are 63 water reservoirs in
Makkah and the holy places.

He estimated that the average daily amount of water coming to Makkah during Hajj
season amounts to 410,000 cubic meters.
