EXISTENCE OF THIRD PARTY STRAINED RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MALAYSIA-INDONESIA

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 9 (Bernama) -- The strain in relationship between Malaysia
and Indonesia was caused by the existence of a third party that had hoped to
promote an agenda to benefit politically, Foreign Minister Anifah Aman told the
Lower House of Parliament Monday.

Anifah said after realising the existence (third party), both government's
are monitoring their action.

"The third party is trying to blow up or hype minor issues to promote their
agenda for their own political benefit. We are monitoring the situation and
specific action is being taken.

"Our neighbour (Indonesia) have also informed us of their existence (third
party) who try to take advantage of any situation," said Anifah when answering a
question from Member of Parliamnet Idris Haron at the Lower House of Parliament
Monday.

Idris had wanted to know if there were people in the country who were
trying to create animosity between the two countries by raising issues like the
pendet dance, Ambalat, abuse of foreign maids and Manohara (former wife of a
Kelantan royalty).
