S. Korea offers $3 million in textbooks to Laos

SEOUL, Nov. 9 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's international aid agency has provided
some 2.6 million textbooks valued at US$3 million to Laos over the past three
years, its officials said Monday.

The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) said the 2.6 million Laotian
textbooks printed in South Korea will be distributed to about 400,000 middle and
high school students in the Southeast Asian country.
KOICA, which oversees South Korea's official development assistance projects, has
also dispatched educational and printing professionals as well as school supplies
and printing machines to other developing countries worldwide, officials said.
