CHINA'S PRESIDENT ACCORDED STATE WELCOME

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 10 (Bernama) -- President Hu Jintao of China was accorded
a state welcome at Parliament Square here Tuesday upon his arrival for a two-day
visit to Malaysia.

Hu, who was accompanied by his wife, Liu Yongqing, and a delegation, was
greeted by Malaysian King Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin and Prime Minister
Najib Razak.

Hu then inspected a guard-of-honour mounted by four officers and 103 men of
the first battalion Royal Malay Regiment.

Cabinet ministers and members of the foreign diplomatic corps were also
present at the welcoming ceremony.
