INDONESIAN PRESIDENT ACCORDED STATE WELCOME
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 11 (Bernama) -- Indonesian President Susilo Bambang
Yudhoyono, who is on a two day-day visit to Malaysia, was accorded a state
welcome at Parliament Square here Wednesday.
Accompanied by his wife, Ani Bambang Yudhoyono, he was received by King
Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin.
Present were Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak and his wife, Rosmah Mansor,
Cabinet ministers and foreign dignitaries.
The national anthems of Malaysia and Indosnesia were played before Susilo
inspected a guard of honour mounted by 107 officers and men of the First
Battalion Royal Malay Regiment led by Major Mohd Radzi Othman.
This is Susilo's first visit to Malaysa since becoming president for the
second term last October.
Susilo later had an audience with Tuanku Mizan at the National Palace.
He was accompanied by Indonesian Foreign Minister Dr R.M. Marty M.
Natalegawa, Defence Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro, Industry Minister Mohamad S.
Hidayat, Culture and Tourism Minister Pariwisata Jero Wacik, Manpower and
Transmigration Minister Muhaimin Iskandar, Youth and Sports Minister Andi Alfian
Mallarangeng and Indonesian ambassador to Malaysia Da'i Bachtiar at the
30-minute meeting.
The Malaysian side was represented by Youth and Sports Minister
Ahmad Shabery Cheek, Malaysia's ambassadorial representative in Indonesia Amran
Mohd Zin and Undersecretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs's Southeast Asia
Division Adnan Othman.
Susilo is scheduled to receive a call from Najib before attending a dinner
at the prime minister's official residence.
The two leaders are scheduled to meet in Putrajaya Thursday to discuss
issues in fields like Indonesian workers, maritime boundaries and international
affairs on food security, energy and anti-terrorism.
