OMAN HOPES TO EXPAND NON-OIL MARKET WITH PARTICIPATION AT INTRADE
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 12 (Bernama) -- Oman hopes to expand its non-oil exports
with
the participation at the International Trade Fair (INTRADE) 2009 and is also
looking forward to have bigger representation in future.
Oman displayed products from eight companies at INTRADE held from
Nov 10 to 12 here, said Omani Centre for Investment Promotion
and Export Development (OCIPED).
Emad Alshukeyli, Marketing Researcher in the Directorate General of Export
Development Centre who participated in the exhibition, said the Omani
pavilion attracted a large number of visitors and businessmen.
He hoped participation would be an appropriate opportunity
to find new markets for Omani non-oil exports.
OCIPED participation was at the invitation of the International Islamic
Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC).
Exhibitors representing 11 main industry sectors showcased a wide range of
products and services which include automotive parts and components, medical
devices and healthcare services, and industrial
components at INTRADE held annually.
Also on display are machinery, equipment and parts, building materials,
electrical products and information and communications technology products and
services.
The exhibition saw the participation of more than 300 exhibitors from 30
countries, attracted over 10,000 visitors and provided vast opportunities for
exhibitors to expand their businesses not only in Malaysia but also in the
region, OCIPED said.
The exhibition is organised by the Malaysia External Trade Development
Corporation (Matrade).
