M'SIA TO TABLE QUALITY ASSURANCE TRAINING PLANS TO OIC MEMBERS
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 14 (Bernama) -- Malaysia will present several quality
assurance training plans for officers and evaluators which will be an important
element in preparing the human capital development for the institutions of
higher learning.
Higher Education Minister Mohammed Khaled Nordin said the plans would be
tabled at the Roundtable Meeting of Quality Assurance Agencies of the
Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) member countries which began Friday.
He said Malaysia, among others, proposed a workshop to train quality
assurance officers and evaluators from OIC member countries.
The training is suitable for OIC members, which are planning to set up
quality assurance agencies such as the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), he
told reporters after opening the Roundtable Meeting of Quality Assurance
Agencies of OIC member countries here Friday night.
Fourty-five delegates from 28 countries are attending the three-day meeting
under the theme of "Information Sharing Towards Capacity Building Initiatives".
Mohamed Khaled said Malaysia also proposed the setting up of a quality
assurance institute to train education officers and ensure that institutions of
higher learning in OIC member countries meet the standard set.
