Meeting of NSC leadership with Majilis deputies

Astana, November 17, 2009 (Khabar) - The Committee of Majilis on International Affairs, Defense and Security has held the meeting in National Security Committee (NSC). They told to the deputies advancing of struggle against extremism, organized crime, what the NSC makes to ensure the economic security, protection of bioresources of the Caspian Sea, and how contradicts the drugs. In 2009, the National Security Committee exposed 22 agents of foreign special services and liquidated 99 drugs groups. In addition, the NSC officials prevented financial damage to the state amounting 208 billion tenge. The return of the assets of "BTA Bank" prevented the damage to the economic interests of Kazakhstan in a sum over 150 billion tenge. 365 crimes were prevented in the economic sphere . 43 criminal cases were initiated against customs officials, 10 - in the field of state procurements. Fight against poaching in the Kazakh part of the Caspian Sea is underway. 607 poachers were detained and 48 tons of valuable fish species were seized.
