Social mood of Almaty residents

Almaty, November 18, 2009 (Khabar) - Almaty journalists have found out what people from large cities think about the work of the government, governors, and the economic state in the country. These are the results of a poll which were announced by the Institute of Political Solutions.

Bakhytzhamal Bekturganova, general director, Institute of Political Solutions:
- To conduct such a poll, you don’t need to ask everyone in Kazakhstan. There are mathematic formulas which help us do this with only 2500 people.

According to sociologists, the poll showed that people from Kazakhstan are becoming less worried about the economic crisis and people are looking at the economic state as normal and they are not afraid of increasing prices and utilities tariffs, dismissals and salary reductions. Such opinions are the results of the anti-crisis measures taken by the government.

Bakhytzhamal Bekturganova, general director, Institute of Political Solutions:
- A lot of people in cities are now hoping for a quick anti-crisis effect to be brought by the government which increases the people’s trust in the head of state and his cabinet. The trust indices have increased by 5% which makes us percept such figures as real.

Sociologists also became acquainted with the ratings of territorial heads. The governors of the Aktobe, Atyrau, and East Kazakhstan regions topped the list. Officials from the institute believe that the activity of the country’s high-ranking officials in terms of the solution of the pressing issues based on precise economic solutions played a key role in the formation of social opinion of the people of Kazakhstan.
