S. Korea, China agree on joint research in Arctic Ocean
SEOUL, Nov. 18 (Yonhap) -- South Korea and China have agreed to conduct joint
research into the Arctic Ocean as part of efforts to expand maritime cooperation,
the government said Wednesday.
The agreement was reached at a meeting held between government officials of the
two nations in Beijing on Tuesday, according to the Ministry of Land, Transport
and Maritime Affairs.
Both sides promised to launch joint research in the Arctic Ocean starting next
year. In a bid to facilitate cooperation, they also agreed to increase exchanges
in personnel and technologies for maritime research, the ministry said.
