Online game makers to showcase newest lineup at S. Korea's G-Star

SEOUL, Nov. 19 (Yonhap) -- Online game makers, including U.S. game developer
Activision Blizzard Inc., will showcase their newest game lineups at South
Korea's largest game expo next week, organizers said Thursday.
The four-day event, G-Star 2009, is scheduled to take place from next Thursday,
with its venue having moved to South Korea's southern port city of Busan after
four years in the Seoul metropolitan area.
G-Star 2009, the fifth of its kind, will highlight the future trend in online
games, said the organizing committee.
Among the 200 participating companies from 20 different countries are South
Korea's industry giants such as NCsoft Corp., NHN Corp. and Nexon Co.
Playable versions of highly anticipated new games such as Activision Blizzard's
StarCraft II are expected to be unveiled, a committee official said.
G-Star 2009, with its focus on online games, has divided online game zones into
four themes -- massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG),
first-person shooter (FPS), action and casual games.
New technologies using devices such as Internet-based TVs and smartphones will
also be introduced.
Over 180,000 people visited the expo last year, while 162 companies from 17
countries participated.
