MALAYSIAN PILGRIMS FUND TARGETS ZERO MISSING PERSON'S REPORT DURING HAJ PILGRIMAGE

MECCA, Nov 21 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Pilgrims Board (Tabung Haji) is
hoping for a zero missing person's report this year among Malaysian pilgrims,
especially the senior citizens, during the "wukuf" (grand gathering) at Arafah
and also at Mudzalifah and Mina through the "one to one" service.

Tabung Haji general manager (Counselling Division) Tengku Aziz Raja
Abdullah said the service, introduced since four years ago, had proven effective
in addressing problems of "lost" pilgrims during the haj rituals.

He said Malaysian pilgrims, especially the elderly folks, could request for
the service and given individual attention by Tabung Haji personnel.

However, he said, the pilgrims would have to meet certain criteria to be
eligible for the service.

"Since this service is limited, only those above 85 years old, incapable of
looking after themselves and performing the pilgrimage unaccompanied will be
considered," he told reporters.
