President of RK visited “Kazakhfilm” studio
Almaty, November 24, 2009 (Khabar) - “Kazakhfilm” is the main film studio of the country and is actively reviving national cinema. Only this year, the studio has started the production of 10 new films. Most of them were already screened. Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Kazakhstan has visited Shaken Aimanov film studio. “Kazakhfilm” also launched the implementation of the largest project of technical modernization and the head of state has already seen some results. For example, the president was shown new studio lamps and modern cameras. The sound studio is the inner sanctum of “Kazakhfilm” and works according to the principle of a “box in a box”. The hall has variable acoustics which help the director implement different creative ideas. Currently the studio is being used for the commissioning of video tape editing suites, computer graphics rooms and a studio of video tracks recording in the Dolby system. The studio has a producer’s centre and a centre of film project development. “Kazakhsfilm” is the most well-equipped film studio in Central Asia.

- Certainly, the visit of the president to “Kazakhfilm” is a very important event for us. In our country, the president has a very important role and when he comes here, it means that he is focused on cinematography.

- Today, we had a very pleasant meeting with the president and it is a very big stimulus for creative person. Every visit of his is useful.
Zhanna Kuanysheva, honoured artist of RK:
- It is very difficult to overestimate the visit of the president, since it proves the level of assistance being offered to creative people in general and to the employees of “Kazakhfilm” in particular. When we feel this support, we become more interested in our work. That is why I would like to thank him for his visit to the film studio. We have constructed a great studio and wanted to show it to the head of state.
The meeting with the president involved both honoured and young actors of “Kazakhsfilm”. At a presentation of new projects, the head of state was given a demonstration of extracts from new films, the work of which involves such famous film directors as Yegor Konchalovskiy, Tauyekel Slambek, Daniyar Salamatov, Timur Bekmambetov and Renat Davletyarov.
The presentation involved historic, children’s, modern films and films about the history of the country and its capital city.

- Kazakhstan has its own roots and cultural traditions, which could have given birth to the world. We should go into the world with our ideas.
Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Kazakhstan:
- It would be good if our films could be shown abroad. I would like to say that I usually go to the cinema. I promise that I will be helping you in the development of the studio. I am inspired by everything I have seen here. I will look forward to new films.
Kanagat Mustafin, actor:
- This is a great event, especially for us, young directors. The state supports us and the President pays special attention to youth. I would like to thank the President for his support of young filmmakers and the entire film industry of Kazakhstan. Kazakhfilm is now again revived, fully equipped with new equipment thanks to our President and his good policy.
