INDIAN WOMEN PREFER CLEAN-SHAVEN MEN, SOME PREFER STUBBLES

By P. Vijian

NEW DELHI, Nov 25 (Bernama) -- Urban Indian women prefer to smooch
clean-shaven men but men with stubbles also score well for their sex appeal,
says a recent study.

The 2009 AC Nielsen survey, which interviewed over 1,000 men and women in
eight Indian cities recently, discovered that clean-shaven guys topped the
women's choice.

"Across Asia, men and women frown on the full-bearded look. Indian and Thai
men favour moustaches and stubbles, but the most desired style in India is the
clean-shaven look or a goatee.

"A whopping 72 per cent of women respondents in Mumbai and an even greater
83 per cent of female respondents in Chennai are more likely to kiss a shaved
man.

"In Mumbai, 64 per cent of women say stubble increases the sex appeal of a
man," reported the Times of India, quoting AC Nielsen's findings.

According to the survey, women found that men with facial hair were old
fashioned, which made them less popular among the urban females.

Well, as for the men, the survey found that 90 per cent of Indian men prefer
to be clean-shaven but only 55 per cent had a clean-shaven face, added the
newspaper.

The study also found that in cities like Bangalore and Chennai, men took
about 30 minutes to shave while in Lucknow, capital of Uttar Pradesh, it was
done within five minutes.
