SUSNO DUAJI OFFICIALLY NOTIFIED OF HIS DISCHARGE

Jakarta, Nov 25 (ANTARA) - Police Commissioner General Susno Duaji said he had been officially notified of his replacement as head of the National Police's Criminal Investigation Department (Bareskrim).

"The national police chief told me that I am now just a senior officer at the National Police Headquarters (without a specific assignment)," he said after meeting with the National Police's leadership here on Wednesday.

The head of the National Police's public relations division, Inspector General Nanan Soekarna announced on Tuesday that 25 high ranking officers and nine middle ranking officers or senior commissioner-level officers had been transferred.

The post transferred include that of criminal investigation department chief from Susno Duaji to Inspector General Ito Sumardi Djunisanyoto, formerly coordinator of expert staff of the national police chief.

Susno said he accepted the transfer and would do his best in line with the national police chief's mandate.

He said he would submit all case documents to the new chief detective and a team of inspectors would check what had been handed over.

Susno said his meeting with the national police leadership was a normal thing in the police organization. "It is not me who determines if my new position is temporary or fixed," he said. He said true policemen including himself would never question where they would be assigned to and had to be always ready to be assigned anywhere.

As a subordinate he would only report to his immediate superior and even as a general he could not reject or choose an assignment as his loyalty to the state and nation had already been tested.

Regarding plans to meet with the officer replacing him, he said he would not do it formally. ***4***
