Iran launches first 4-D cinema hall

TEHRAN, Dec. 1 (MNA) -- Iran launched its first 4-dimensional cinema hall here on Monday at the Azadi Art and Cultural Complex.
The heart of 4-D cinema is the seat, which vibrates and moves in unison with the onscreen action. Smells can be released from an advanced perfume system and tactile sensations, such as a breath of air down the back of the neck or a touch on the leg are possible via air jets and versatile appendages.
The opening ceremony began with the participation of Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad Hosseini, secretary of this year’s Fajr Film Festival Mehdi Masudshahi, head of Azadi Tower Abolfazl Hamrah, and managing director of Rudaki Foundation Asghar Amirnia.
Masudshahi who was the former director of Rudaki Foundation said that the theater is well-equipped, “On either side of the big screen, two other screens are set up on the left and right, helping to add more pleasure to the atmosphere.”
“The seats are designed in a way to be able to transfer the quickest actions. We are hoping to screen a movie on Iran’s Sacred Defense as soon as we can in this cinema,” he added.
Head of Azadi Tower Hamrah next remarked that the complex was ceded to the Rudaki Foundation in 2003, “Most of the visitors to this cultural complex are youths and we must try to entertain them with the help of the latest technology.
“New projects are planned for the future, including the opening of the largest museum of rocks and gems in this complex in mid-December. Also planned is the establishment of an association of young broadcasters,” he mentioned.
Culture Minister Hosseini also expressed hope that Iranian movies with their rich culture will go on screen in this cinema.
