Russia taking part in Seoul int`l show of inventions.

SEOUL, December 3 (Itar-Tass) -- Russia, like in previous years, takes
part in a regular Seoul international show of inventions of 2009 which
opened on Thursday.
As first deputy general director of the association Russian House of
International Scientific and Technical Cooperation Vladimir Petryashev
said in an exclusive interview with ITAR-TASS, this time ten Russian
organizations, including the famous Bauman University and the St.
Petersburg State Mining Institute, present 33 technologies.
South Korean Prime Minister Chung Un-chan visited the Russian
exposition, which is one of the most representative here, on its opening
day. He expressed special satisfaction with the fact that Russia took part
in the show again stressing the importance of development of new
technologies in the modern world and said about the South Korean
government's intention to patent a number of presented inventions.
According to Vladimir Petryashev, official Seoul's interest is
explained by the fact that developments regularly brought by Russian
inventors represent serious science and are much more significant than the
majority of exhibits of other countries.
In 2008 alone, out of 54 developments presented by Russia, one got
Grand-prix and another 26 were awarded gold, silver and bronze medals.
This is much more than other countries-participants got. Besides, Russian
technological developments got a lot of special prizes.
The fact that Ukrainian inventors came to Seoul for the first time may
be considered a peculiarity of the show.
