Four nursery schools opened in Almaty region

Almaty, December 09, 2009 (Khabar) - Pre-school establishments were built in accordance with the instructions of the head of state Nursultan Nazarbayev to the government and local authorities. The “Shapagat” child day-care centre in the Issyk city is designed for 140 places. It is located in an extensively repaired 2-storey building and corresponds to all the necessary standards. 49 million tenge was allocated for the repair works.

Serik Umbetov, Almaty regional governor:
- We’ve mapped out a 3-year plan. We’ll open 121 nursery schools including mini-centres next year to secure places for 14 thousand children. On the whole, we are planning to provide places for more than 36 thousand children in 3 years.

In the Kusain Bizhanov village, a building which passed into the ownership of a cooperative during privatization was returned to the education department once again. Today, 6 groups have been formed at the “Kunshuak” nursery school.

Lera Orazbekova, villager:
- It’s the first establishment which is actually designed to be a day-care facility. We have a nursery, but it operates in a school building. So, we are really happy the same as the parents because there are little children in every home.

Yersalyat Nurkhalykova, villager:
- I brought my grandson and granddaughter to this nursery school. I liked it because the conditions are really good. It’s warm and cozy there. The teachers and nannies are very nice.

Two more day nurseries have opened in the “Baiterek” and “Masak” villages. The first one is designed for 75 children and the second for 100. Since the beginning of the year, 10 pre-school establishments have been restored and commissioned in the Almaty region.
