Lao leaders welcome four ASEAN PM and ASEAN Secretary General

(KPL) President Choummaly Sayasone and Prime Minister Bouasone Bouphavanh received yesterday at their offices a courtesy visit of Prime Ministers of Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar and Thailand and the ASEAN Secretary General.
The visiting leaders arrived here on 9 December to attend the opening ceremony of the 25th SEA Games which opened in the evening.
At the talks, Lao leaders expressed warm welcome to the leaders and briefed them about the progress of the preparations for the 25th SEA Games, which is a great honour for all Lao people to host the first significant event to promote friendship and solidarity between ASEAN countries. “The hosting of this SEA Games will become the key lessons for Laos to go together with other countries in the region and the world over”, said the Lao leaders. All Lao people are very proud and pleased to welcome all guests including all athletes coming for this SEA Games. Their participation is considered a contribution to further strengthening the friendly relation and co-operation between Laos and ASEAN.
On this occasion, the visiting leaders expressed thanks to the Lao government for inviting them to participate in the SEA Games and expressed congratulations for the good organisation which the governments of ASEAN member countries have realised its importance and are very pleased to provide their support.
They also hoped that this SEA Games would be highly successful and gradually raise the prestige and role of Laos in the regional and global arena.
