North Korea`s leader inspects tractor plant, livestock farm.
PYONGYANG, December 10 (Itar-Tass) -- North Korea's leader Kim Jong Il
inspected a tractor-making plant and a livestock farm in northern North
Korea. The head of state went on an inspection trip in the city of
Kange-ge, the administrative center of the Chagang-do Province, the KCNA
news agency reported on Thursday.
During a visit to the recently built farm, where cows, goats and
rabbits are breeded, Kim Jong Il praised local workers for introducing the
scientific approach to the livestock breeding and "observing the
profit-making principle." The coutry's leader emphasized that high-quality
dairy products are made there and urged the farmers to provide urban
residents with these dairy products in full.
Kim also praised the workers of the Kange-ge-based tractor-making
plant. He thanked engineers and workers "for the creation of the
production system, which is based on advanced scientific technologies." He
noted that this enterprise "plays an important role in the development of
the machine-building industry in North Korea."
In the inspection trip Kim Jong Il was accompanied by his younger
sister Kim Kyung-hee and her husband Chang Song-taek, who is in charge of
the department of administrative bodies at the Central Committee of the
North Korean Labour Party.
