RI-MALAYSIA ESQ ALUMNI SET UP COOPERATON FORUM

Bogor, W Java, Indonesia, Dec 12 (ANTARA) - Alumni from the Indonesia-Malaysia ESQ Leadership Center met here Saturday and set up an Indonesia-Malaysia Brotherhood Cooperation forum.

The Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) speaker, Marzuki Ali welcomed the Alumni Communication forum and hoped it can continue to strengthen the good relations between the two countries.

Apart from Marzuki, other figures who attended the launch and the signing of the founding charter of the Indonesia-Malaysia brotherhood forum was Malaysia's Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir, the son of former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohammad.

Datuk Mukhriz is now the Malaysian Junior Minister for Trade.

Grouping about 800 thousand people in several countries, ESQ is now led by Ary Ginanjar Agustian from Indonesia.

In Indonesia, a number of people who once attended the ESQ training currently play an important role in government, the state enterprises and in private companies.

The Regional Representatives Council or DPD chairman, Irman Gusman, House speaker, Marzuki Alie, and the DPR vice chairman Priyo Budi Santoso had once taken part in ESQ training activities.

On November 28 and 29, 2009, some 200 DPR members took part in a two-day training of the ESQ Leadership Center.

On the other hand, in Malaysia, almost all police and army officers went through ESQ training.***
