SUSNO READY TO TALK TO HOUSE INQUIRY COMMITTEE
Bandung, Indonesia, Dec 12 (ANTARA) - The former chief detective of the National Police, Commissioner General Susno Duadji, expressed his readiness here on Saturday to be questioned about Bank Century affairs by the House Inquiry Committee.
"I am ready to be questioned by the House Bank Century Inquiry Committee because I know about it. I will gladly tell what I know," he said to newsmen.
He said he knew about the case because he was investigating it, from the loss of the bank, its bailout funds and their distribution.
Susno said he had investigated two cases with regard to Bank Century, namely matters relating to the Bank Century proper, and and the Antaboga case involving fictitious credits, fictitious funds management contracts and other things.
Based on Bank Century personnel's confessions, the loss directly relating to its customers reached Rp1.290 trillion while the bank's new management had compensated Rp4.31 trilion.
"It should have been that the balance would be normal after the loss is added to the compensation but the fact is it did not happen and that is what has created the problem that led to the House inquiry," he said.
Susno said that the police were just reaching the stage of probing the case and their focus was the money of the people/customers.
Regarding the loss in the form of securities he said it belonged to the bank and would be compensated for. The loss suffered by the customers was Rp1.298 trillion but why was compensated for with Rp4.31 trillion, he said.
"Why did the new bank management compensate the customers with Rp4.31 trillion while their loss was only Rp1,298 trillion," he said.
In addition to it, he said, based on the statement of the Deposit Insurance Agency (LPS) the funds that had flowed reached Rp4.018 trillion. The gap is quite big, namely Rp300 billion, he said.
"It was said the funds had all been paid to customers. But the fact is none of them has recieved a refund," he said.***
