JOBS AVAILABLE IN MIDDLE EAST FOR WEST SUMATRANS

Padang, W Sumatra, Indonesia, Dec 12 (ANTARA) - Several institutions in Abu Dhabi and Saudi Arabia have opened opportunities for West Sumatra people to work in Middle Eastern countries, a manpower official said.

In Abu Dhabi, for instance, the Halbour hotel and Hilton hotel need a total of 50 and 100 workers respectively, in the meantime Saudi Arabia needs 470 nurses, said Zulkifli N, head of the placement and development for domestic and overseas workforce at the provincial Manpower and Transmigration office said here Saturday.

The workers in the two countries will receive salaries about Rp12 million monthly, he said, adding that the workers will also get 45 annual holidays. One US dollar is now about Rp9,500.

Regarding the job opportunities for 470 nurses, the applicants should meet requirements among others active mastery of English and have certificates issued by the official certification agency which is also recognized internationally.

"The official certification agency is an institution that has the authority to test the skills of prospective workers to be sent abroad," he said, but he did not mention why the two Middle Eastern countries opened opportunities for West Sumatra workers.***
