210 THAI IMMIGRANTS DEPORTED IN CONJUNCTION WITH THAI KING'S BIRTHDAY

SADAO, Dec 14 (Bernama) -- A total of 219 Thai illegal immigrants were
deported to their country Monday under an amnesty programme in conjunction with
the birthday of King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand.

Malaysian Immigration deputy director-general (Management), Che Din Yusoh,
said Monday's deportation was the third involving a total of 520 Thai illegal
immigrants

"The first, involving 150 people, was early this year in conjunction with
Queen Sirikit's birthday and the second was in August," he told reporters here
after handing over the immigrants to the Thai authorities here Monday.

The ceremony was witnessed by Thai Deputy Home Minister Thawom Senneam.
