EXECUTIVES LAUD VIETNAM AS PROMISING INVESTMENT MARKET

Hanoi, June 8 (VNA) - A foreign executive said on June 7 that she has seen promising investment opportunities in Vietnam during her first visit to the Southeast Asian country to join the Global Summit of Women. "I will stay in Vietnam for some more days after the summit to seekbusiness partners," Aysha A.Bu Dastour, Chairwoman-cum-CEO of the Kuwait Brucker General Contracting Company, told the Vietnam News Agency on the sidelines of the event. The businesswoman went on to say that her belief in Vietnam 's economic growth, which has been continuously registered at an average of more than 7.5 percent over recent years, is the reason for her to make the decision. Sunway International Hotels and Resorts Area Director-Vietnam Jean Luc Bonneau said actually, such a growth rate has lured almost all investors. Egypt 's National Council for Women Secretary-General Farkhonda Hassan shared the same view with the two executives, saying that she recognised great opportunities in Vietnam only one day after she came to the country, met people and made a tour of Hanoi capital city. The South African Vice Minister of Trade and Industry, Elizabeth Thabethe said South Africa considers Vietnam one of its top priorities in its trade and investment promotion activities. The vice minister cited the recent agreement to set up a joint commercial committee as a vivid manifestation of Vietnam-South Africa relations, adding that the agreement will lay a foundation for businesses of the two countries to boost their trade and investment.
