PARLEAMENT LIFTS REPRESENTATIVE IMMUNITY

Sana'a, June 8 (Saba) - The parliament approved on Saturday lifting the parliamentary immunity of Yahya Badr al-Din al-Houthi at the request of the Justice minister for authorities to take legal procedures against him. The decision came after a report by the constitutional and legal affairs committee at the parliament and the request of the Justice minister which renewed the call for lifting the immunity of the parliamentarian al-Houthi. Al-Houthi is convicted of playing part in forming an armed group and inciting a rebellion against the government as well as spying for other countries.
