Concert of Tommy Emmanuel
Almaty, December 20, 2009, Khabar - The fourth season of the “Diplomacy of Stars” festival has finished by the brilliant concert of the world famous guitar wizard Tommy Emmanuel. At a press conference in Almaty the presenter of the “Diplomacy of stars” and the Russia music critic Svyatoslav Belza said that Tommy has enchanting, polyphonic and multilayered techniques of playing.
Svyatoslav Belza, music critic:
- He has been playing a guitar since he was 4 years old. Then he participated in various music bands, which were founded by his brother. When he was 12 years old, he won a TV contest and recorded his first album. Currently, he has 16 albums and world fame. It is his first visit to Kazakhstan but he has already visited Russia.
The musician said that he never wanted to do something else. Music is something that unites people and that is why he came to Kazakhstan.

- I never thought about fame and wealth. I have a gift and the most important thing is to be good to people. I never listened to critics, since I am the people’s musician and play for people.
The famous American musician Chet Atkins was always an idol for Tommy. He listened to his songs and then copied his unique manner. Many years later he developed his technique a lot and now Chet Atkins became Tommy’s fan and gave him a title Certified Guitarist. Tommy Emmanuel was performing with such famous musicians as Stevie Wonder, Tina Turner and Eric Clapton.
