3 police officers dismissed for red tape
Astana, December 22, 2009 (Khabar) - 3 officers from the Almaty Police Department have been dismissed for violations and red tape in the investigation into a traffic accident. It occurred in the centre of Almaty involving two cars and costing the lives of three people. However, the violator was placed on the wanted list only 1.5 months after the accident. As a result of the inspection carried out by the internal security department of the home office, the internal security department chief of the Almaty Police, Bolat Zhilkibayev was reprimanded for violating the service ethics and service rules, as well as the deputy chief of the Almaty Police, Murat Urumkhanov who was reprimanded for the absence of control during the investigation of a criminal case. Three police officers were dismissed.

- Chief inspector for serious crimes from the traffic accidents investigation department, William Amarkulov was dismissed for discrediting the image of a police official, violation of the criminal code and red tape during the investigation into this traffic accident. The chief of the inquiry division, Talgat Tusubaliyev and the chief of the administration department, Meirkhan Umirbayev were both dismissed for the absence of control over their subordinates resulting in the red tape in the investigation of a criminal case.
