Ministry for Emergency Situations intensifies its service
Astana, December 31, 2009 (Khabar) - “The fiery spectacles” must be carried out strictly in accordance with the rules of fire safety, emergency experts warn. On the eve of New Year rescuers intensify their form of duty. The places of selling of pyrotechnic products are under their special control. Artyom Yevdokimov and his son Herman choose the major in their view, attributes of holiday - sparklers, noisy crackers, colorful fireworks. Though the fire show is not cheap today, these buyers do not spare the money. However, they said they strictly adhere to security measures.
Artyom Yevdokimov, buyer:
- We used to it, every year we buy fireworks, and it is the basic part of the holiday. According to the tradition after a 12-hour feast we go out the street and the whole yard runs various fireworks and salutes. We take a responsible approach to this issue.

Meanwhile, specialist of emergency situations department of Almaty district, Almat Sansyzbayev says the purchasing of fireworks is a serious matter, so he advises to buy only certified products in the store, with mandatory instruction in the Kazakh and Russian languages applied. People should pay attention to the expiration date. It is prohibited to give such products to children, to wear them in their pockets, to burn again and smoke nearby.

- Packaging must be intact, powder shouldn’t pour from it. When buying pyrotechnics and fireworks, you should ask the seller if goods have licenses. Salute and fireworks must be installed and used in open areas, near which there are no trees, no power lines, as well as within a radius of 50 meters should not be living homes, i.e. courtyards, as well as in public places, using of fireworks is strictly prohibited in such places.

- Together with the department for emergency situations we developed such booklets. Now we hand out to every buyer such booklets and necessarily warn them about this instruction, so that they will abide by it.
Because of the misuse of fireworks dozens of fires happen every year. To avoid this, experts advise to observe basic rules of fire safety, while they pass on additional duty.

- According to the instruction of Minister for Emergency Situations, Mr Bozhko, territorial units tested more than 2500 different entertainment facilities. More than 1200 people were brought to administrative responsibility in the form of fines for 10, 5 million tenge for various violations of fire safety regulations.
The specialists of emergency services say in general, all kinds of fireworks must be arranged not by amateurs, but professionals, because even sparklers are dangerous.
