Santa Claus is a traffic police officer
Bishkek, December 31, 2009 (Khabar) - During the holidays, Bishkek is witnessing an unusual campaign, in which the traffic police are wearing the costumes of Santa Claus and the Snow Maid in order to create a holiday mood. The campaign will last until December, 31st and drivers of Bishkek will be able to feel the approach of New Year. The campaign was also a kind of present to the city’s drivers.
Talant Sydykov, inspector, chief administration of traffic safety, Internal Affairs Ministry of RK:
- Our minister asked us not to punish those, who do not pose a threat to traffic. This means that we should not impose fines but just warn people instead.
For violating road traffic regulations, drivers will be nonetheless prosecuted and for this officials put out some additional posts. The squad will be serving in emergency mode.
