Social wellbeing of Kazakhstani people is the state’s top priority

Astana, January 03, 2009, Khabar - In 2009, the government continued implementation of most important social programs despite the financial crisis. Kazakh citizens have to have an opportunity of choosing the best education, landing a good job and making use of competent medical aid. Special programs are fulfilling tasks set by the president.

Zhanseit Tuimebayev, minister for education and science of RK:
- The main result of the year is the fact that despite the financial meltdown in the world, on the president’s commission, first of all, we retained wages, secondly, the construction process maintained and thirdly, numerous schools were repaired on the “Road map” program. This was the highest rate of repaired schools throughout the entire period of independence.

The presidential “100 schools, 100 hospitals” programs demonstrated a considerable result as well. At the beginning of the year, the government had to reshape the budget. However, expenses for the construction of medical and educational facilities remained reserved.

Karim Massimov, Prime Minister of RK:
- The top priority issue is what the state has done for every individual in terms of improvement of their health. I would like to note that over the last three years, all in all more than 200 healthcare facilities have been constructed with the help of various sources of financing, both budgetary and private ones. In my opinion, it’s a very good result.

The “Nurly kosh” repatriates’ support program is being continued. In 2009, over 16 thousand families moved to Kazakhstan. A pilot project for the housing construction was launched in the Akmola region and 138 houses are being built in the “Krasnyi Yar” village.
The “Road map” program became a peculiar present for Kazakhstani citizens. In the course of the year, more than five thousand facilities such as utility facilities, roads and public places have been repaired in both cities and villages. In 2010 pensions will increase by 25% in Kazakhstan. The minimum pension will be raised from 9,875 to 21,500 thousand tenge.
