MONGOLIA CHOSEN TO LEAD IAEA'S FAR EAST GROUP
Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ Mongolia will chair the Far East group of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in 2010, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported Tuesday.
The IAEA has 151 members who are divided into eight groups depending on a geological locations.
The groups work in frames of responsibility to exchange information, highlight their position during the IAEA's session, discuss the election issues.
The Far East group comprises Mongolia, China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia and the Philippines. A leader of the group elected for one year enters into relations with the IAEA's authorities and other groups, and regulates issues on elections, representing its group.
