Uzbekistan purchases trial batch of pipes from Russia
PERM, January 6 (Itar-Tass) - The Oil Machine Building Company of Perm
has delivered to Uzbekistan a trial batch of thick-walled and leading
drill pipes for the production of uranium, representatives of the
territorial administration told Itar-Tass on Wednesday.
The trial batch of 150 drill pipes was delivered to the Uzbek Mining
and Metallurgical Complex in Navoi, which has been well known since Soviet
times. The pipes are being tested now.
Representatives of the territorial government reported that heavy
drill pipes with a square section were designed specially for the Navoi
Complex. The pipes, produced by the Perm Company, are used together with
the pipes, produced by the Drilling Equipment Factory of Orenburg.
The representatives of the territorial administration said as well
that if the tests showed good results, the Navoi Complex planned to
purchase from the Oil Machine Building Company of Perm one more batch of
heavy and leading drill pipes with a square section. The batch will be
made up of 300 pipes - twice as many as the number of pipes in the trial
batch.
The Perm Oil Machine Building Company has been producing equipment for
the oil industry, the chemical industry, the atomic industry and the
aircraft building industry since 1993. The production of equipment for the
drilling of oil wells and for oil extraction is now one of the main
directions of its work. Its customers include oil producing, drilling and
servicing companies from Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan,
Azerbaijan, Lithuania and Bulgaria.
