Bomb explodes in Dagestan`s capital, no casualties
MAKHACHKALA, January 8 (Itar-Tass) - An explosion occurred in
Dagestan's capital Makhachkala at around 22:00, Moscow time, on Thursday,
as a police car was passing by, but there were no casualties, the press
service of the republic's Interior Ministry said.
"The bomb, planted in a garbage bin on a roadside in Akushinsky
Street, exploded as a police car had passed the casualty area," the press
service said.
The blast wave smashed windows in ten-storey apartment houses nearby.
A team of detectives and demolition experts is working at the scene.
