1MALAYSIA CLINICS JUST AS GOOD, PEOPLE ASSURED

SIBU (Malaysia), Jan 11 (Bernama) -- The people should not have any
reservation about seeking treatment at 1Malaysia clinics as the medicines
dispensed are of the same quality as those from other government clinics.

Such clinics charged only RM1 (US$0.29) for any treatment plus medicines,
which was the cheapest in the world, said state minister of environment and
public health Wong Soon Koh.

"We hope, all Malaysians, especially the low-income earners living in urban
areas, would make full use of the clinics," he said when launching the state's
four 1Malaysia clinics in Teku Road in Sibu,is an inland town, and the capital
of Sibu District in Sibu Division, Sarawak, east Malaysia Sunday.


He said the National Front (Barisan Nasional-BN) Government had taken up
such a proactive measure for the people's benefit.

National Front is a major political coalition in Malaysia. Formed in 1973 as
the successor to the Alliance, it has been Malaysia's ruling political party
since independence.

State health department director Dr Zulkifli Jantan said the four 1Malaysia
clinics are located at Teku Road here, Matang Jaya in Kuching, Taman Tunku in
Miri and Taman Sungai Plan in Bintulu.
