TWO AND HALF THOUSAND FOREIGNERS DEPORTED FROM MONGOLIA
Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ As of December 10, 2009, there were 997 temporary foreign residents and 19,184 long-term foreign residents for official purposes in Mongolia, said an official of the Office for Immigration, Naturalization and Foreign Citizens.
According to the immigration official, 1,059 citizens from 25 countries were not allowed to enter Mongolia in 2009 for the reason of having no entrance visa, failure of explaining the purpose of a visit to the country and for intending to work illegally.
In 2009, a total of 2,575 citizens from 20 countries were deported from Mongolia for exceeding visa terms and working without permissions from related authorities. Out of them 2,456 were from China, 41 from Vietnam, 16 from the Republic of Korea, 11 from Ukraine and Philippines, respectively, 9 from Russia, 8 from Kirgizstan and 23 people from other countries.
In accordance with permissions from related state and public organizations, the Office for Immigration, Naturalization and Foreign Citizens issued long-term residence permissions for official purposes to 20,906 foreign citizens and extended the long term residence permissions to 16,817.
The office revised applications and materials requesting to become a citizen of Mongolia sent by 10 citizens from China and one from Russia and stateless person, respectively. After revision of documents and materials, these applications were introduced to the Prime Minister. Then President issued decrees concerning it after reviewing, and his decision was sent to the related authorities.
Furthermore, the office reviewed applications of citizens who intended to go out ofc itizenship of Mongolia to become a citizen of another country. Totally, 394 Mongolians requested to become the citizen of Kazakhstan, 114--the Republic of Korea, 53--Germany, 12--Japan, 4--Poland, 5--the Czech Republic, 2--Austria, Netherlands and Norway, respectively, and one--the USA, Singapore, Russia and Sri-Lanka, respectively. These applications were submitted to the Premier. The President issued related decrees concerning this issue and sent a decision to related authorities.

The applications were delivered by 365 citizens who became the citizen of Kazakhstan. These applications were submitted to the Prime Minister.
