Laos, Indonesia further cooperation on various areas

(KPL) Lao Foreign Minister Dr. Thongloun Sisoulith and his Indonesian counterpart Dr. Marty Natalegawa have agreed to enhance the cooperation between the two countries through both regional and international levels.
The statement was made during their meeting in Vientiane. Both sides reached agreements on different areas, including visa exemption for people holding non-diplomatic passports of both countries, which is aimed at promoting tourism between Laos and Indonesia.
The visit to Laos of the Indonesian minister and his delegation on 10-12 January is also to further the bilateral cooperation on agriculture and the Indonesia government has agreed to grant scholarship to Lao officials for training in rubber tree plantation in Indonesia.
The Indonesian side also proposed Dr. Thongloun about making a feasibility study on opening additional direct flights between the two countries. Both sides highly valued the bilateral cooperation on commerce, investment, agriculture, education and tourism.
Dr. Thongloun also took this opportunity to express thanks to the Indonesian government for its provision of scholarship to Lao officials and its handover of the World Peace Gong to Laos.
