MALAYSIAN PM WILL MAKE OFFICIAL VISIT TO SAUDI ARABIA AND UAE
KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 13 (Bernama) -- Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak will make an official visit to Saudi Arabia from Jan 13 to 16 and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from Jan 17 to 19.
Foreign Ministry, in a statement Tuesday, said the official visit to Saudi
Arabia was at the invitation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King
Abdullah Abdulaziz Al-Saud, while the official visit to UAE is at the invitation
of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohammed Zayed Al Nahyan.
"This would be the Prime Minister's first official visit to Saudi Arabia and
the UAE since becoming Prime Minister," the statement said.
During the visit, Najib will accompanied by his wife Rosmah
Mansor, Foreign Minister Anifah Aman, cabinet ministers, several
Menteris Besar and Chief Ministers as well as senior government officials.
The two official visits aimed to deepen the bond of friendship with the
leaders of both countries as well as to further consolidate bilateral
cooperation between Malaysia and Saudi Arabia as well as UAE.
"Malaysia, in particular, will be working towards enhancing trade and
investment relations with Saudi Arabia and UAE in the various Economic
Development Corridors in Malaysia," it said.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to have an audience with King Abdullah in
Saudi Arabia and President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Khalifa
Zayed Al Nahyan in UAE.
Najib will also meet Vice-President who is also Prime Minister of UAE and
Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed Rashid Al Maktoum and he will have an audience
with Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohammed.
"The Prime Minister will deliver the keynote address at the World Future
Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi on Jan 18," the statement said.
