Kyzylorda region: social and economic development plan
Kyzylorda, 08 January 2008,(Khabar) - Senior officials at the Kyzylorda regional administration discussed the region’s development plant for the next three years. Special attention was paid to the solution of social issues. The region is now working on the reduction of unemployment through a tangible plan. The region is about to launch its investment programme made up of 70 projects. First of all, it is planned to construct a dairy complex and a greenhouse with a total area of 100 hectares. The number of the region’s vegetable storage facilities is also to be increased and 10 more nursery schools are to be commissioned. The programme for the provision of quality drinking water to the local population is to be continued as well, with 5 billion tenge allocated for this purpose from the Republic’s budget.
Sabit Kozhametov, deputy head of Kyzylorda region:
- This year, we are planning to start constructing an elite school for 900 pupils. The project will be supervised by the head of state. It will be called a presidential school. We are set to start construction this year. We have already chosen the best site to build on. As for the health sector, we have begun the construction of an out-patient’s clinic for 250 people and a maternity hospital for 500 people. There will be two more of them, able to house up to 300 people in the Kyzylorda region.
