Passenger traffic surges 14 per cent in Nov. 2012 at Sharjah International Airport

Sharjah, Dec 13, 2012 (WAM) - The Sharjah International Airport saw the rise in passengers last November by 14 per cent to 640, 527 compared to 561, 668 passengers in corresponding period last year, according to the recent statistical report released by the Sharjah Airport Authority. The regular and irregular traffic at the airport surged slightly in Nov. by 0.46 per cent to 5, 716, while the volume of cargo handling during the same period of this year were 28, 804 tons, and the shipping - air volume handling reached 3, 053 tons. Ali Salim Al Midfa, Director General of the Sharjah Airport Authority said the airport is registering growth in number of passengers, noting that the passengers surged last November by about 14 per cent, thanks to the facilities offered by the airport and the leading role of Air Arabia. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
