Tehran refinery to produce Euro-5 gas oil, jet fuel

TEHRAN,Feb.7(MNA)--Tehran refinery will start tomorrow producing premium gas oil and jet fuel, meeting the Euro-5 standards, Managing Director of National Iranian Oil Engineering and Construction Company, Farhad Ahmadi, announced on Monday. He added that some $650 million has been invested in the project, which is aimed to produce 8 million liters of gas oil and 5 million liters of jet fuel per day. Iran previously launched a fuel jet production unit at the Shazand Oil Refinery, with the daily production capacity of some 6 million liters, meeting the Euro-4 standards, an official with the National Iranian Oil Production and Distribution Company stated. Rashid Seyedian added that the unit is producing 4.2 million liters of premium jet fuel in the first phase. Some €28.5 million has been invested in establishing the unit, he said, adding that the new unit will also produce around 141,000 liters of gasoline per day.
