UAE and Polish ministers discuss trade and energy cooperation

Abu Dhabi, Jan 18, 2012 (WAM) - Cooperation between the UAE and Poland on trade, economy and investments was discussed Tuesday by Minister of Foreign Trade of the UAE Sheikha Lubna Al-Qasimi and visiting Polish Deputy Prime Minister ''&'' Minister of Economy Waldemar Pawlak. In remarks at the meeting, Sheikha Lubna stressed that the UAE's economy sees fresh growth. The UAE's development plans aim at building a sustainable economy that focuses on industry, research, education and exploring new sectors such as renewable energy which provides opportunities for Polish companies willing to expand operations in the region through the UAE to penetrate the world's fastest growing markets in the MERNA region and South Asia. For his part, the Polish official hailed the progress the UAE has been making in all spheres. Trade between the UAE and Poland went up by 18% in the first 8 months of 2011 to reach US$ 235 million of which US$ 205 million are imports by the UAE. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
