TEHRAN,Dec.21(MNA) -- Photos by Iranian artists featuring the developments of Iran over the past 33 years will go on display in 50 different countries around the world in an exhibition titled “Iran + 33”.
The exhibition will open during the Ten-Day Dawn celebrations (February 1-11) marking the anniversary of the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, and will continue for several months.
In a press conference held here on Monday at the venue of the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art, the museum Director Mahmud Shaluii and secretary of the event Alireza Karimi Saremi gave some details about the exhibit.
Significant development of the country is the major topic for the exhibit, which will be showcased through beautiful pictures, Shaluii said.
Austria, South Africa, Germany, Armenia, Indonesia, Italy, Kuwait, Qatar, Russia, and Turkey are among the countries that will be displaying Iranian photos, he added.
The program has so far been warmly welcomed by both photographers and the public sector, he said, adding that to date, over 700 photos have been submitted to the secretariat of the exhibit.
Karimi Saremi also called the event a major program in the history of Iran’s photography, adding, “The best photos of the highest quality will be selected for this great show.”
Mohammad Sattari, Rasul Oliyazadeh and Farhad Soleimani are among the members of the board of selection who will begin selecting the best photos next week.
