Bahrain religious freedom hailed

Manama, Feb. 18. (BNA) – Representatives of religions and creeds from all around the world expressed their appreciation of the freedom of religious beliefs and practices granted by the Kingdom of Bahrain. They affirmed the significant role involving everyone in religious rapprochement and promotion of unity. They were speaking during a meeting held at the International Peace Institute (IPI)- Middle East and North Africa (MENA), attended by representatives of religions and beliefs in Bahrain. The Director of IPI-MENA read the project entitled "Call of Manama", which was approved by the attendees. He stressed the necessity of coalition and solidarity among beliefs, cultures and civilizations in order to serve humanity. In line with the Call of Manama project, attendees underscored the importance of the freedom of speech, fighting violence and religious extremism and urging leaders to disseminate the culture of peace and mutual understanding. They pointed out the importance of culture and educations as pillars of the promotion of human dignity and respect. They confirmed that peace is the principle of all divine religions and essence of all belief, adding that world peace is everyone's responsibility.
