Blank verse by Iranian poet Hossein Monzavi to appear in German
TEHRAN,March 5(MNA) -- Iranian author and translator Ali Ghazanfari translated poetry written in blank verse composed by poet Hossein Monzavi into German.
The bilingual book will be released by the Salis Publications in Persian and German in the foreseeable future.
“The collection contains all the blank verse poetry composed by the late Monzavi excluding some poems he composed for some special persons,” Ghazanfari told.
The 300-page book has been edited and submitted to the Salis Publication for release, Ghazanfari added.
He said that although Monzavi is known mainly for his classic poems in Iran, none of his poems in traditional form were translated in the book.
Monzavi died in 2004 when he was 58. He studied Persian literature at Tehran University but he gave it up to focus on sociology. Renouncing this field also, he returned to live in his homeland, Zanjan.
His credits include “Love in Disaster Around”, “About Cashmere and Poetry”, “About Amber and Camphor”, “About Hemlock and Sugar”, “With Siyavosh about Fire” and “Just Easy”.
